Restorative Yoga
Through restorative yoga, the body is supported in postures that are held for a longer period of time using bolsters, blankets and blocks to help find comfort in each pose. Hands-on healing and therapeutic touch are used to create a sense of calm, invite a feeling of peace and encourage a deeper release. This practice offers a genuine gift of time and a chance to relax and receive.
Often we are taken too far away from the most important part of who we are. A gentle sway through each day, close to center, is the best way for the body to stay balanced. Awareness in the moment with intent to listen, and knowing when to pause and give in, will allow the body a chance to find center again. We may not even realize those times when we are barely breathing – when our life force is stifled for a purpose and our body forced to function in a static state. The quality of the breath lets us know when it is time to take a break to restore and rejuvenate. In this way we allow natural healing to take place.

Therapeutic yoga techniques and hands-on energy work enhance the practice and aid in developing a deeper awareness of the body and its capabilities. Any specific medical conditions or injuries are addressed according to the needs of each client.
Individual sessions allow time to develop daily routines to assist in opening up areas that need attention, customizing specific poses for the best possible benefit. An alternative approach could be a moving meditation, freely flowing from one pose to the next, a peaceful experience that is both energizing and relaxing.
